Barefoot Climbing

While most rock climbers wear climbing shoes that provide maximum friction on the rocks, some climbers prefer barefoot climbing.

I tried it myself years ago but on the limestone rocks with all their sharp edges it was a more painful experience.

Today, I found two videos on YouTube about barefoot rock climbing. The first (1:32 min. long) shows a climber at Chuckawalla, St. George, UT ascending a 10.B route.

The second video shows barefoot climbing rock climber fall (7:19 min. long). But nothing bad happens and he continues to finish the pitch.
